U/G Asset Tracking with Anti-Collision System

TranzTel Technologies India intends to introduce its long-range asset tracking system for the Indian U/G Mining Industry. The same system can house an anti-collision system as well. We envisage more efficient and safer working zones by virtue of this bundled application.

The operating principle is simple. We nestle a uniquely coded active RFID Tag in every asset namely caplamps, coal carts & loaders. The tags will intermittently emit signal which will be picked up by strategically located access points throughout the mine. These data will be sent over the network continuously to the control room above ground, thus keeping the centralized database always updated. An integrated software will interpret and analyze these raw data / information and present them in a comprehensive customised form on a monitor screen. As a result, zone operation monitoring, traffic control, asset management can be carried out more efficiently.

As an added feature, anti-collision system can be integrated with the existing tracking system. Low-range sensors can be housed in small electronic devices and fitted on moving machines to catch the emitting signals from caplamps present within a 3m radius. Once spotting such a caplamp worn by a miner, the device will send signal appropriately for immediate machine immobilization, thus avoiding a potential man-machine collision.

In the unfortunate incident of roof collapse / accidents, we recommend the ‘GLON-GLOP’ technology to help the rescue team in tracking down the trapped miners.
